Lennon Mi. - Justin Horvath President of the SEDP says that the Solar Contractor Is Holding a Job Fair Friday, July 17th, from 12 pm to 3 pm, onsite,10400 Cronk Road, Lennon, MI. Mask Required. Entry-level positions available – Mechanical solar laborers, equipment operators, electrical helpers Mid-High Experience – Michigan Licensed Journeymen Electricians, and Electrical Apprentices.
This is a 1,245-acre solar farm that will be in Venice and Hazelton Townships.
Ranger Power was given approval from the County Board of Commissioners with a special permit to build the solar farm whose panels will face north to south but will follow the sun as it moves from the east to the west.
The project is expected to cost 250 million dollars and will create hundreds of jobs during construction.
The solar panels are placed on a framework that is put into the ground but that is easily removed when the life of the system is reached.
“We appreciate the support from the local community members, businesses, neighbors, and residents as we sought approval for the Assembly Solar Project,” said Sergio Trevino, director of permitting at Ranger Power in January 2019 when they received the permits.
“We are excited to bring The Assembly Solar to our community, which will create jobs and spur continued growth in Shiawassee County” stated Justin Horvath, president, and CEO of the SEDP.
The Assembly Solar Project we were advised will have a significant positive economic impact on Shiawassee County, generating a $3.2 million increase in household earnings through the creation of the 300 jobs during construction, with approximately $16 million in construction dollars being spent in the county.
The project's life expectancy is up to 40 years.
“This project will pump economic benefits and tax income into Shiawassee County, benefiting schools, small businesses like restaurants, and hardware stores, libraries, and fire and police services, as well as road and bridges.” Said Sean Harris, development manager at Ranger Power.
Ranger Power has many projects going on across the country, but Harris stated last January that they are working on doing several other projects in Michigan.
