Owosso Mi. – Professional Gambler and Detroit Business Man, Nemer Haddad has until Friday to present a plan and then work that plan on either fixing up or tearing down the Matthews Building on W. Main across the street from the Owosso City Hall.
If he does not comply Owosso City Manager Nathan Henne stated the city will “Take care of it.”
The problem is Haddad owns several marijuana shops and it will not be good if he has a misdemeanor from the city of Owosso for not taking care of the building that he has had numerous tickets on.
Nemer has made many promises to the city and has never followed through. Not long ago you may have read where Nemer was going to tear down the building nearest to the river that has the collapsed roof.
He promised the city that he was going to enter into some loan / grant programs but that also came went with nothing done.
The City has taken him to court and that is sitting on hold because of promises made that were never honored.
The latest is Haddad has told the city it looks loke it will be cheaper to just put a roof on the building and then secure it. He does not plan on going for any grants.
The Owosso City Council was told by City Manager Henne that he has had enough and Friday is the day something must be done or else.
Henne stated that he told Haddad, We want you to fix it. We don’t care whether you put a roof on it or tear it down but the problem must be taken care of.
I asked Mr. Henne what it means that the city will take care of it. Mr. Henne stated that he would get costs on replacing the roof and on tearing it down and give both figures to the Council to decide.
Haddad was originally going to put a marijuana shop in the building after re-building the complex. The problem is the Federal Government won’t put money into a building if a marijuana shop is in it.
Haddad then promised that if the city let him move the shop, that was against the rules, that he would fix the Matthews Building up. The city took the deal and Haddad still hasn’t finished the building that they let him move to.
Who is Nemer Haddad? You could call him a Detroit Bigshot. He comes from the Detroit area and calls himself an entrepreneur. Haddad is a professional gambler wining $564,981.00 over his career, a developer, businessman, and the head of different organizations that had 9 provisioning centers in December 2019.
Haddad opened the 1st marijuana store in the area, “Oz Cannabis”, just outside of Depot Town in downtown Ypsilanti.
Haddad also opened the 1st in Traverse City. Speaking with the Traverse City Business News one day after the Nov. 6 deadline, Nemer Hadad of WL Green Ventures said his Traverse City store was “fully, fully approved” and had received “both our state and our city approvals.” “We’re the only ones that are able to open as of now,” Haddad said.
Lets see on Friday what Haddad is going to do.
