Corunna, Mi. - Shiawassee County Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Christopher Brown was arrested on August 4, 2021, by the Shiawassee County Sheriff’s Office on suspicion of drunk driving and possession of a firearm under the influence. Brown who was trying a case allegedly came to work under the influence. Sources state that Brown blew a .11 with .08 considered driving under the influence.  

Per the Shiawassee County Prosecutor’s Office, Mr. Brown posted bond and will be awaiting a charging decision based on the Sheriff’s Office investigation.  

Shiawassee County Prosecutor Scott Koerner stated in an email that his office will be disqualified from any prosecution and that a request for a special prosecutor will e filed with the Attorney General to determine which prosecutor’s office will be assigned to review the investigation and determine what charges, if any, would be appropriate.  

Elected Prosecuting Attorney Scott Koerner stated, “This is a sad day for my office. Mr. Brown was a rising start in the legal community. He is a talented and dynamic trial attorney, and his presence on my staff will be missed.”  

According to the email, Brown’s employment was terminated with the Prosecutor’s Office upon his arrest.
