Owosso, Mi. - The Owosso City Council voted on Monday to purchase a 2022 Osage Super Warrior Type III ambulance on a Ford E-450 Gas 4x2 Chassis with a price of $228,591.00. This price includes a Stryker Power Pro XT Model 6506 cot.  

The city is investing local with Kodiak Emergency Vehicles of Grand Ledge, Michigan,  

The city states the vehicle will replace a 2001 model year ambulance that is currently a front-line vehicle. The 2001 vehicle will be sold upon delivery of the new ambulance.  

A memo from the city that went to the Council stated, Three bids were received, Public Safety staff reviewed all three bids that were submitted and recommend the purchase from Kodiak Emergency Vehicles of Grand Ledge. The estimated delivery time on the vehicle is 12-18 months. 

The memo continued, In the 2021-2022 budget, Owosso City Council approved $100,000.00 towards the purchase of a new ambulance. On September 29, 2021, the City of Owosso was awarded an $80,000.00 USDA grant towards the purchase of this ambulance. The remaining balance of the ambulance purchase ($48,591.00) will be a request to city council in the 2022-2023 budget year.
